ALL WILL BE EXPLAINED IN DUE TIME.
Karma is a tabletop roleplaying game set in the 2700s.
In the 1800s, a war began that would reshape humanities future forever. The world, torn apart by this war, was practically uninhabitable, and humanity would seek refuge on our neighboring planets. Years later, And as punishment for humanities great sin of slaughter, the Earth cracked, In an event immortalized as the KARMA.
After years of struggle and despair, Humanity is in a worse spot than ever before. Almost as if time was at a standstill, nothing noteworthy happens. While our solar system is at the constant brink of interstellar war, it never breaks out. Small skirmishes occur, With no ramifications.
As time goes on, Advanced technology grows more scarce, And those who seek it out get more well paid in tandem. Salvage is in demand, But so are hired guns, Medical professionals, Captains, Engineers, And the ever elusive Machinemen.
What lays in front of you is a tabletop roleplaying game developed over the course of roughly 7 months or so. The system it runs on is completely built from scratch, Designed around fragile characters. Death is meant to always be a real threat, and combat is discouraged (But encouraged by me, I greatly enjoy the combat rules personally). It has been playtested with a group of my close friends, and it has changed heavily since I first started. It is not a professionally developed game in the slightest, but i hope you enjoy it either way.
This is a game of crude, breaking technology, Limited by antiquated theological beliefs. Firearms are limited, Ships can't bear cannons, Nukes and Neutron bombs have been banned for almost a millenia.
This game also has mecha as well, in the form of RIGs. Colossal fighting machines, built to withstand the stresses of both ground warfare and stellar combat. There is a variety of RIGs, Covering many roles from basic combat, To more frivilous pursuits like racing.
A world of petty political power struggles, And battles over more advanced technological resources, You will find your place, One way or another. You can focus your campaign around a variety of themes, from simple slugfests against amoral hordes of pirates, to a more political, character focused romp. It is up to you, Dear player.
Utilize the unique keyword system to make your own firearms of questionable quality, And do please share any homebrew you create, Id both love to see it, And I'm sure everyone else is as well. It has a variety of traits that change how you play your character, And a wide list of wounds that can be inflicted upon them.
The basic rules can be used for functionally any more grounded setting I'd say, And if people ask for it, I'd release a barebones book of just the rules.
This whole game is a very personal project for me, and something I had a lot of fun working on.
26 Pages of art, Rules, Lore and other such things. A small bestiary, with generic troops, a full list of Armor, Weapons, Mechs, Consumables and general equipment is of course in the book as well.
If you do choose to purchase this, Thank you kindly, If you have any feedback, or general advice, feel free to comment.
